Application Settings

RunMyApp provides settings to control the execution of RunMyProcess DigitalSuite applications.

User Management

If required, RunMyApp can be used with more than one user account. Use Manage Accounts to add a user account, switch to another user account, or remove a user account you no longer need.

To add a user account to your account list, use the “+” sign in the upper right corner. You will be redirected to the login page and asked to sign in with a different account. RunMyApp will save this user account for later use.

To switch to another user account, proceed as follows:

  • Select a user account from the account(s) list.
  • On selecting an account, you will be redirected to the login page. This is the case if the Password when switching account toggle is enabled under the Advanced Settings or Advanced Features at the account level.
    • In general, the toggle is disabled by default.
      • If the toggle is disabled, the selected account can be accessed directly.

To remove a user account, proceed as follows:

Android Click the main menu and go to Advanced Settings > Manage Accounts. Click the trashcan icon next to the user account to be removed.
iOS Click the main menu and go to Advanced Features > Manage Accounts. Swipe left for the user account to be removed.

You can also remove the user account that is your currently active account. If you are sure you want to delete it, proceed as follows:

Android Click your account name in the main menu. Choose Remove Account.
iOS Click your account name in the main menu. Choose Delete account.

Execution Mode

The Execution Mode option allows you to change the execution mode. The default execution mode for end users is Live. However, developers or testers might want to use RunMyApp in Test or Acceptance mode.

Note that even if the execution mode is set to Test or Acceptance, you will still receive notifications from the live environment. Changing the execution mode deletes all local offline data on your device.

Android Click the main menu and go to Advanced Settings > Execution Mode.
iOS Click the main menu and go to Advanced Features > Execution Mode.

Notification Registration

The Notification Registration option allows you to register or unregister your device to receive push notifications.

Note that unregistering your device disables notifications for all RunMyProcess user accounts that are set up on your mobile device. When restarting RunMyApp, the device is automatically registered again to receive notifications.

Android Click the main menu and go to Advanced Settings > Notification Registration. Choose Register device or Unregister device.
iOS Click the main menu and go to Advanced Features > Notification Registration. Choose Register device or Unregister device.

Clear Cache (Android)

On Android devices, you can delete the data that is currently stored in your cache. Clearing the cache includes deleting all downloaded offline resources.

To clear your cache, click the main menu, go to Advanced Settings, and select Clear Cache.

Background Sync (iOS)

On iOS devices, you can enable background synchronization to submit requests in offline mode. If enabled, the requests are automatically uploaded as soon as the device is connected to the internet. Note that the background synchronization uses additional battery power.

To enable background synchronization, click the main menu, go to Advanced Features, and activate Background Sync.

Default Photo Size

Applications may allow you to upload photos from your mobile device to the DigitalSuite platform. You can take such photos on the fly without leaving RunMyApp.

Particularly with newer devices and high-resolution cameras, the photos may be very big and their upload very time-consuming. For this reason, RunMyApp provides means to scale down the photos from their actual size to a small, medium, or large size and to set a corresponding default.

Android Click the main menu and go to Advanced Settings. If you enable the Set Default Photo Size option, RunMyApp will use the selected size for every photo you take for an upload to DigitalSuite. If you disable the option, you can select the photo size with each individual upload.
iOS Click the main menu and go to Advanced Features. If you enable the Set Default Photo Size option, RunMyApp will use the selected size for every photo you take for an upload to DigitalSuite. If you disable the option, you can select the photo size with each individual upload.

On Android devices (version 12 or later), links to the RunMyProcess platform, for example in emails you have received, open in your default browser window. An Android setting allows you to change this and open links directly in RunMyApp.

To open links in RunMyApp, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the Android Settings menu on your device.
  2. Go to Apps > RunMyApp > Open by Default.
  3. Enable Open supported links.
  4. Click Add link to select the links for the platform you are using, for example portal.runmyprocess.com and live.runmyprocess.com for EMEA.
